Lanolin absolute is extracted from wool wax, the waxy coating of sheep's wool. It smells warm, waxy and softly animalic with a wool-like musk.
It is used to give a warm, skin-like animalic note to musk and leather accords without the heaviness of civet or castoreum. It comes from sheep without harming them.
